On my bike…

Testimonial

How about renting some bikes and getting on them for a day of exploration and letting go? Let’s follow Aurélie and her family on the Véloroute du Lin.

There’s nothing more unpleasant than cycling to the sea, don’t you think? With the Véloroute du Lin, you can link Fécamp to Pourville in complete safety.

The distances aren’t insurmountable atall,” says Aurélie, a young mother who lives in the area. You just need to get organized and optimize what you take on your bikes.

On the section from Offranville to Pourville, you’ll follow the Saâne, then the Scie, wild coastal rivers that give pride of place to apple trees.

It’s great! I’ve discovered some beautiful landscapes,” smiles the young woman.

In fact, the valley is very pleasant, with wet meadows and ponds, reed beds and a wealth of birdlife.

This way of getting around, by bike, opens doors and shows us pictures that we wouldn’t otherwise see, notably of some beautiful Cauchois homes.

Along the way, tables, benches and even hammocks have been set up for a picnic break or a moment’s rest. It was a rural, natural and exotic experience that this little family really enjoyed.

I like the idea of discovering things using this way of getting around. It’s smart, ecological tourism that’s good for the body,” enthuses Aurélie.

Hiking in Varengevillle

Experience

Jennifer and Aimie, two Tourist Office advisors, followed the GR21 for part of our“Les trois gorges de l’Ailly” hike. A much-appreciated experience!

In the early afternoon of this sunny day, we set off to discover the Varengeville-sur-Mer valleys. After parking the car in the Saint-Valéry church parking lot, we headed for the Moutiers valley.

We went down through the fields and came out on this magnificent and quite impressive view! All the ingredients were there for a great time: sun, sea, nature… We couldn’t leave without taking a few photos. Then we turned back and headed for the Bois des Communes. This vast protected natural area takes us to another world. A stop seemed unavoidable, and we settled down on the edge of a pond. Peace and quiet were the order of the day…

But we had to set off again. We finally arrived at the Petit Ailly valley, with its discreet and charming beach. We turned off onto the path leading to the center of Varengeville-sur-Mer and returned to the car. This was a very pleasant end to the walk. On the village roads, large buildings decorate the landscape. Once back at the starting point, it’s time to visit the church of Saint-Valéry to take in the breathtaking architectural heritage overlooking the cliffs and the remarkable view.
