Winners of numerous international competitions, the Trio Hélios has rapidly established itself on the greatest stages. For this concert, they present three major pieces from the twentieth-century repertoire. Composed in 1914, Ravel?s trio remains one of the composer?s most famous pieces, testifying to his mastery of the art of orchestration and the subtle interplay of musical textures. D?un soir triste is a remarkable work that testifies to the musical genius of Lili Boulanger, who sadly died far too young, aged just 24? As for Shostakovich?s Trio No. 2, it is one of the Russian composer?s most poignant and emblematic compositions, combining pain, irony and great virtuosity.
