FAQ - Bike hire in Dieppe and surrounding area
  • Which bike to choose for cycling around Dieppe❓

The classic bike is perfect if you mainly cycle on the greenways and cycle paths, such as the Avenue Verte, the Véloroute du Lin or Dieppe’s seafront and town centre. It’s also ideal for those looking for a sporting challenge.

For longer outings, hilly routes or simply to enjoy the countryside to the full without any constraints, an electrically assisted bike (VAE) is a particularly comfortable option.

👉 The rental companies listed on this page all offer electric bikes, as well as classic bikes, depending on the model and availability.

  • Can you cycle as a family, with young children❓

Yes, by giving priority to the safer greenways:

    • the Avenue Verte (from Dieppe to Forges-les-Eaux),
    • the Véloroute du Lin (particularly the section from Pourville-sur-Mer to Saint-Pierre-le-Viger).
    • Or the cycle path along the Dieppe beach.

Outside these routes, the majority are on roads shared with cars, so special care is recommended.

Some rental companies offer children’s bikes, baby seats or trailers, perfect for safe family outings.

  • Are there any signposted cycle routes❓

Yes, major routes such as the Avenue Verte London-Paris, the Véloroute du Lin and the Véloroute du Littoral have dedicated signage.

For other routes, or if you are new to these routes, we recommend that you :

    • obtain a cycle map from the Tourist Office,
    • or prepare your itinerary in advance using a GPS application, a GPX map or Google Maps.

The Tourist Office also offers a discovery loop, not signposted on the ground, but available on our website.
