The beach at Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer

A walk in every season
The immensity of the cliffs as far as the eye can see

The view from this beach is spectacular. To the left, the white cliffs of the Côte d’Albâtre, to the right, the browner cliffs of Cap d’Ailly…

Going for a walk

A breath of fresh air

In Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer, at low tide, the sea gives way to a beautiful beach of pebbles and sand. Pretty wooden huts house two or three shops. It’s a particularly pleasant place to stroll in all seasons.
On the promenade, you’ll also find a small children’s playground.

On Saturday mornings, don’t forget to visit the Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer market with its local producers. A short distance away, don’t miss the fish market and its fishermen in Quiberville.

You’re sure to see a boat come in from the open sea and a tractor come down to pick it up. A very pleasant sight, enlivened by the flight and cries of gulls in great numbers.

The blockhouse on the beach

A must-see photo

A blockhouse*, a remnant of the Second World War, fell onto the beach in 1993. Planted vertically, it now stands some thirty meters from the cliffs.

“A word of advice: take shelter from the wind behind the wave-breakers*.

And if you don’t, don’t leave without walking up the path from the beach. In just a few minutes, you’ll have a breathtaking panorama. It’s sure to make you want to do the Cap d’Ailly hike

For a drink, settle down at Les Voiles– you couldn’t ask for a more beautiful view at sunset!
