This chapel, dedicated to sailors lost at sea, offers a unique view of Dieppe’s pretty port. In the background, you can see the town, the sea and the cliffs. During your visit, you may even be accompanied by a few goats grazing in the area… Surprising, isn’t it?

From the Château de Dieppe

From here, you can overlook the town, the beach and the cliffs. A remarkable view that you can also contemplate from every window of the château. Inside the fortress, on the lawns, you’ll find a large black frame: an excellent spot for an original photo.

From Pourville-sur-Mer

A magnificent vantage point overlooking the chalk cliffs*, this panorama was a favorite of Claude Monet, the great Impressionist painter* who lived in Pourville. The view is also a source of pride for the local residents. Along the coast, it’s anot-to-be-missed stopover during your stay.

From the Château d’Arques

Enjoy a bucolic view of the valley! The village of Arques-la-Bataille is where the three rivers Eaulne, Béthune and Varenne meet to form the Arques, the river that flows into the mouth of the port of Dieppe. From this promontory, a beautiful green setting emerges… one of the region’s green lungs.

*littoral: the seaside, the shoreline

* impressionist painting: scenes painted in the open air; light and subjects are treated in small strokes, directly on the canvas; this style emerged in France at the end of the 19th century.

* Georges Braque was a French painter, sculptor and engraver born in 1882 and died in 1963.

* Raoul Ubac was a Franco-Belgian photographer, painter, engraver and sculptor (1910-1985).

* chalk: white calcareous rock

* viaduct: large bridge built over a valley at great height. It is used to carry roads and railways.
