Every two years in Dieppe, the sky gives visitors a colorful show.

The beach lawns play host to a fabulous ballet of multicolored kites from the four corners of the globe.

Dancing with the wind

For 9 days in September, the Festival International de Cerfs-Volants transforms Dieppe’s eight hectares of seafront lawns into a veritable open-air theater.

For this 2025 edition, let yourself be amazed by the shapes and colors that will dress the sky, a roving musical program that will enliven the festival, and original creations created with the school and extracurricular public.

Parades, shows and entertainment will also punctuate this great festival, where the wind becomes the ally of artists and enthusiasts alike. A not-to-be-missed event for young and old alike!

🌈 Each day punctuated by theflight of giant bowls in the morning and commented and choreographed flights in the afternoon, with flexible programming adapted to the weather
🪁 A village structured into 5 hubs: exhibition, children’s, historical, creative and aerophotography
🎭 A festive parade on the 1st weekend
🌙 A spectacular night flight on Saturday, September 20
🏛️ Art exhibitions blending kite and architecture
🪶 A creative competition on the theme of asymmetrical balance and its public prize
📚 Original events: ephemeral library, greeting net, wind farm…

This event is much more than just an aerial show: it’s a true crossroads of cultures, a meeting placed under the banner ofuniversalism and peace. Through its programming, it brings together traditions, know-how and imaginary worlds from the four corners of the globe.

More than ever, this festival carries a message of sharing and escapism, inviting everyone to raise their eyes to these symbols of freedom.
In 2025, over 200 kite flyers are expected from Malaysia, South Korea, Indonesia, Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Colombia, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland, Tahiti, United Kingdom, USA… And the list goes on!

A poster between sky, sea and history

The 2025 poster pays tribute to Dieppe’smaritime identity, between sky, sea and cross-Channel ferry, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Dieppe-Newhaven link. It also illustrates the festival’s theme: “shapes and colors“, echoing the abundant creativity of kites from all over the world.

A festival for all

The Dieppe International Kite Festival is more than just a spectacular display of kite flying: it’s a free, popular event. Young and old alike can marvel at the aerial creations, discover the art of kite-flying and even take part in kite-making and flying workshops.

Visitors can also stroll through the stores offering kites for all levels, from the simplest to the most technical, and take advantage of the catering facilities in the heart of the festival village.
