Every two years in Dieppe, the sky gives visitors a colourful display.

The beach lawns play host to a fabulous ballet of multicoloured kites from the four corners of the world.

Dancing with the wind

For 9 days in September, the International Kite Festival transforms Dieppe’s eight hectares of seafront lawns into a veritable open-air theatre.

For this 2025 edition, you’ll be amazed by the shapes and colours that will fill the sky, a travelling musical programme that will enliven the festival, and creative kites,

Parades, shows and entertainment will also punctuate this great festival where the wind becomes the ally of artists and enthusiasts. A not-to-be-missed event for young and old alike!

What awaits you in 2025!

From 13 to 21 September, the skies over Dieppe will come alive with a rich programme open to the world:

  • 🌍 More than 400 international kite flyers expected, including 200 officials representing 28 countries
  • 🌈 Each day will be punctuated by theflight of giant bowls in the morning and commented and choreographed flights in the afternoon, with a flexible programme adapted to the weather
  • 🪁 A village structured into 5 hubs: exhibition, children’s, historical, creative and aerial photography
  • 🌙 A night flight on Saturday 20 September
  • 🎭 A festive parade on Sunday 21 September
  • 🏛️ Art exhibitions combining kites and architecture
  • 🪶 A creative competition on the theme of asymmetrical balance and its public prize
  • 📚 Original events: ephemeral library, wishing net, wind farm, etc.
  • 🎶 Concerts every day
  • 🤹‍♀️ And a circus show to discover with DSN-Dieppe Scène Nationale

A festival in the colours of the world

This event is much more than just an air show: it’s a true crossroads of cultures, a meeting place under the banner ofuniversalism and peace. Through its programme, it brings together traditions, know-how and imaginary worlds from the four corners of the globe.

More than ever, this festival carries a message of sharing and escapism, inviting everyone to look up to these symbols of freedom.
In 2025, more than 200 kite flyers are expected from Belgium, Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tasmania, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam.

The 2025 poster pays tribute to Dieppe’smaritime identity, between sky, sea and cross-Channel ferry, to mark the 200th anniversary of the Dieppe-Newhaven link. It also illustrates the theme of the festival: “shapes and colours“, echoing the abundant creativity of kites from all over the world.

A festival for everyone

The Dieppe International Kite Festival is more than just spectacular shows and flights. It’s a free, popular celebration. Young and old alike can marvel at the aerial creations, discover the art of kite flying and even take part in kite-making and flying workshops.

Visitors can also browse the shops selling kites for all levels, from the simplest to the most technical, and take advantage of the catering facilities in the heart of the festival village.
