[Danse] Dividus

DIVIDUS (Latin for isolated) takes place in a dystopian future where everything has been forgotten. With his dancers, Nacim Battou imagines a world without memory or culture, questioning the necessity of live performance and asking what we might leave to future generations.
The choreographer invites us to a rendezvous with "Individuals Zero", the latest community of explorers of the living world, who move about on a stage encircled by large swathes of fabric. In this time capsule, they dig their imprint for future generations, in the wake of a question essential to dancers: what movements should they leave behind, what gestures should they pass on? Each dancer puts his or her style to the test, studying every posture, drawing on contemporary dance as well as break and hiphop figures to extract only the essential.
